My journey - intuitive and a love for people
For more than 25 years, I have been helping people reconnect with their bodies, reduce stress, and rediscover balance through holistic health therapies.
I am the founder of Healing Ways, a wellbeing practice in New Zealand offering reflexology, therapeutic massage, Zu Qigong energy footwork, colour therapy, mindfulness, meditation, and energy healing and a wee bit more.
My work focuses particularly on supporting women navigating stress, life transitions, burnout, and the physical changes that come with midlife and beyond.
My approach is simple: every person deserves to feel calm, energised, and deeply connected to their own wellbeing.
Through personalised treatments, I create a nurturing space where clients feel supported, respected, and empowered to take an active role in their health.
Personalised Holistic Therapy
No two people arrive with the same story, which is why I tailor each treatment session to the individual and on that particular day.
Clients may experience one therapy or a combination of treatments including:
• Reflexology to stimulate the body’s natural healing responses
• Zu Qigong Energy Footwork to encourage energy flow and vitality
• Therapeutic Massage for muscular tension and deep relaxation
• Colour Therapy to support emotional and energetic balance
• Mindfulness and Meditation for stress reduction and mental clarity
• Energy Healing to support the body’s natural restorative processes
Many clients choose my signature customised session known as :-
“The Whole Shebang” — a unique blend of therapies designed to support mind, body, and spirit wellbeing.
Leadership in Reflexology in New Zealand
I served as President of Reflexology New Zealand until June 2025 and have been involved with the national organisation since 2013, contributing in roles including Marketing, Vice President, and President.
During my time in leadership, I worked passionately to raise awareness of reflexology as a valuable complementary therapy for stress relief, relaxation, and wellbeing.
My favourite coined phrase: “Let’s make reflexology a household name.”
Supporting other practitioners, educating the public, networking globally and strengthening the profession has been an incredibly rewarding part of my journey.
From Corporate Leadership to Soul-Led Work
Before stepping into my calling in holistic health, I spent many years managing public and private recreation facilities in Scotland, working with local councils, universities, and a private sports and country club.
My focus during that time centered around people development, wellbeing initiatives, and Investor in People programmes — creating healthier, happier environments for both staff and communities.
This naturally led to designing and delivering stress management programmes and workplace wellbeing workshops for corporate teams and community organisations.
One particularly memorable project involved delivering stress management training at a nuclear power station in the UK — definitely a story for another day!
Since moving to New Zealand in 2007, I have continued working with corporate teams, schools and tertiary, community groups, and naturally individuals, helping people manage stress, improve wellbeing, and create healthier lifestyles.
Qualifications & Professional Development
My background blends business leadership with holistic therapy practice, giving me a unique perspective on both personal and organisational wellbeing.
Qualifications include:
• Degree in Marketing
• Masters in Leisure Management
• Over 25 years of professional development in complementary therapies
Alongside hands-on therapy work, I have studied extensively in mindfulness, somatic awareness, and mind-body health, which I incorporate into my treatment philosophy.
This ongoing learning allows me to combine science, intuition, and practical wellbeing strategies to support my clients in meaningful and lasting ways.
My Philosophy
True wellbeing happens when mind, body, and energy are working in harmony.
I combine my background in people-centered leadership, education, and holistic health therapies to create experiences that help clients:
• reduce stress and overwhelm
• reconnect with their bodies
• restore natural energy levels
• develop sustainable self-care practices
Whether I’m working with individual clients, teaching therapy students, or delivering wellness workshops, my goal is always the same:
To help people feel calmer, stronger, and more connected to themselves, and have a wee bit of fun along the way
And after more than 25 years in this field, I can honestly say…
I still love every minute of it.
